Poems are a bit different than the other ritual pieces found in this site. Poems may be used as devotional readings to a particular God or Goddess without actually being an invocation. Poems allow for individual expression of the elements or times of the year.

Try writing different types of poetry - from structured (complete with rhyme and rhythm) to free verse (with no rhyming or structure needed)! You can writing long poems telling a tale or odes written in praise of things that are meaningful. You can write short Haikus - poems with only three lines with the syllabic structure of 5 - 7 - 5. Delve deeply into alliteration. (Repeating consonant sounds.) Use metaphor and simile or other symbolic cues.

Or don't do any of this.

Just go into the woods or the garden or beside a beautiful body of water or just the place that you feel safe and at home. Let the words pour forth from you like water, spilling onto the page, leaving a trail of letters to remind you of this moment.

Make some magick...
