Rounds
How to Work with Rounds
Teach the round as a chant first. When the group feels
comfortable with singing the round together, get a couple of folks to
sing the second voice. Make sure that the song is stable with two voices
before proceeding to three, stable with three before adding the fourth,
and so on. Unless you have a number of musically gifted folks in your
group, you probably won't be able to handle four-part rounds. Even three
may be too much to begin with. But as people work within the round-song
form, they will improve. Remember, a great deal of concentration is
necessary to keep the voices seperate and true. And this ability to
concentrate and focus is the key to completing any magickal act successfully.
And as was stated on the music notes page, these can always
be used as chants instead of rounds.
A note about these midis - especially the Kernunnos and White Goddess
Rounds - these sound much better in person than in this electronic forum.
There is something about the shape of the words and the human voice
that just isn't reproducible here. I would strongly urge you to try
these in real life because the midis just don't do them justice.
If you use any of this material, please site the source. The midi
files can be used with permission only. Thank you!
