Group MagickWell, finally! After a year of planning to put up this page, we are finally getting around to it. More will be added in the future, as time allows.New to Full Moon MagickOne of the things that we like to do, is come together to start our magick at the new moon, have something that we work on everyday, and then come back together at the full moon to finish it up in a grand finale. Group Origami Magick for Prosperity
We started on a new moon. During this ritual everyone was given 15 pieces of origami paper of various colors. We each brought a candle representing prosperity and blessing oil to use on the candle. After all of the opening ritual was completed (see Esbat Ritual for outline), we started the magickal working section of the ritual by annointing and blessing our candles and then lighting them. Next, each person learned how to fold a paper crane. (We also had a diagram that were handed out so that people would have a reference once they got home.) Then, to reinforce our learning this skill, every one folded another crane. After this, we finished up the ritual. (Again, see Esbat Ritual for outline.) In the intervening time, each night each person annointed and lit their candle and made another crane - concentrating on the idea of the crane bringing happiness and prosperity. For the full moon ritual, each person brought all of their folded cranes with them and also their candle. We put all of the cranes into a cauldron and simulataneously lit the cranes with our candles. We then did a power chant and raised energy, asking that the energy that we had put into the cranes for the past two weeks be released to the God & Goddess to bring us what we needed. (You will want to do the burning outside!!) You can modify the focus of this ritual to whatever it is you need.
Single Night Full Moon MagickWhile long term magick can be good, there are also times when we do a magickal working that is only done on that night. Magickal Blessings for GardensUsing the same basic Esbat ritual format, we developed this magickal working to bless our gardens. To do this, you need a large platterbowl for holding a mixture of topsoil, bloodmeal, and bonemeal. This needs to have a large surface area. You will also need to have colored sand - generally I have the elemental colors. (I got mine at Crafts 2000, but I would guess that any well-supplied craft store would carry it.) Before coming to the ritual, members choose a symbol of blessing for the garden. During the ritual we bless the topsoil, bloodmeal and bonemeal - giving thanks to the energy of the animals that have donated their energy to the continuation of life. We mix these up in the bowl/platter and smooth the surface. Then, each member draws their chosen symbol on the surface using the colored sand. After everyone has done this, we raise energy and put it into the soil mixture. After the energy has been raised, we stir up the mixture to incorporate the sand designs, divide it up, and take it home to sprinkle on our gardens to bless them and make them fruit/vegetable-full.
Magick to Get a JobWe did this ritual to help a member get a job. The member for whom the magick was being done brought a number of beads to the ritual, as well as something to string them on (in this case, leather). The beads that were used consisted of wood, bone, ceramic, seed and other natural materials. The member also brought a list of things that he wanted from this new job - security, family time, benefits and a good salary, to stay in the local area, a place for professional growth, etc. After he shared these with the group, other appropriate suggestions from the group were considered. After the final list was decided upon, each member of the group volunteered to do the magick for one of these until all of the desires where divided up. (This was so that there would be concentrated energy on each need.) Then the beads were passed around and each person took the one that resonated with their assigned "area." Energy was raised as a group, and each person concentrated on energizing the bead that they picked out. After the beads were fully charged, the leather was passed around and each person put their bead on it and then tied a knot - infusing it with more of the power. After all of the beads were on the string, one last energy raising was done to empower the completed bracelet. The member then wore the bracelet. Shortly thereafter, the member took the bracelet to a job interview - and then to a second interview. We are pleased to say that our member will be starting a new job this month, after being one of two people hired out of over 180 applications! At the last moon ritual, the bracelet was disassembled and thanks given to the God, Goddess, and elements for their energy and assistance in working this rite. Blessed Be! This ritual could be adjusted for the solitary practitioner.
